CFTC Divisions Extend No-Action Relief for RTO, Again
The CFTC Division of Clearing and Risk, Division of Market Oversight and Division of Swap Dealer and Intermediary Oversight (collectively, the "Divisions") extended the expiration date of no-action relief previously granted to a regional transmission organization ("RTO"). The relief applies to certain energy and transmission-related transactions taking place on the RTO's marketplace. The Divisions explained that the extension is intended to "allow adequate time for [further] consideration of comments on the Proposed Order."
The immediately effective extension will now expire on the earlier of: (i) October 31, 2016; or (ii) the date on which the CFTC issues a final order for the RTO.
