NASAA Announces New President
The North American Securities Administrators Association ("NASAA") announced that William Beatty began his one-year term as president of the organization.
Mr. Beatty explained that he intends to expand NASAA's ongoing initiatives to protect senior investors, particularly those with diminished capacity and technology, and emphasize the upcoming launch of electronic state filing of Form D in connection with private placements. Mr. Beatty also expressed that he will continue to work closely with the SEC to "preserve the regulatory oversight authority" of state securities regulators regarding Reg. A offerings (such offerings must be for less than $5 million in amount).
Additionally, NASAA announced a new Board of Directors and its members, who include: President-elect Judith Shaw of Maine; Past President, Andrea Seidt of Ohio; Melanie Lubin of Maryland; Joseph Borg of Alabama; Kathryn Daniels of Ontario; Gerald Rome of Colorado; Michael Rothman of Minnesota; and Daphne Smith of Tennessee.
