SEC Announces Substantial Fee Rate Increase for FY 2017

The SEC announced that the fees that issuers pay to register their securities with the SEC will be set at $115.90 per million for FY 2017. The new fees represent a substantial increase over the current fee rate of $100.70 per million. The new rate becomes effective on the first day of the new fiscal year which is October 1, 2016, so issuers may want to make their fee payments before the rates go up.
