SIFMA and GFOA Submit Comments Regarding Proposal to Amend MSRB Retail Order Periods Rules

SIFMA and Government Finance Officers Association's ("GFOA") Governmental Debt Management Committee provided joint comments to the SEC on the proposed rule changes filed by the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board ("MSRB"). The comment letters recommend that MSRB-proposed rule amendments to Rules G-8 ("Books and Records to Be Made by Brokers, Dealers, and Municipal Securities Dealers"), G-11 ("Primary Offering Practices"), and G-32 ("Disclosures in Connection with Primary Offerings"), all of which include provisions specifically tailored for retail order periods, be subject to public comment and not be allowed to become immediately effective.
