FINRA Elects and Appoints Several New Governors
FINRA elected two new Governors to the agency's Board of Governors. Stephen M. Cutler, JPMorgan Chase & Co. Executive Vice President and Vice Chair, will continue to serve in the role as Large Firm Governor. Stephen A. Kohn, President and CEO of Stephen A. Kohn & Associates, was elected to fill the Small Firm Governor seat.
In addition, three Public Governors were appointed: Susan Wolburgh Jenah, Former President and CEO of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada; Joshua S. Levine, Kita Capital Management Managing Director; and Elisse B. Walter, Former Commissioner and Chair of the SEC. Joseph M. Mecane, who will become Head of Execution Services at Citadel Securities in September 2017, was appointed to a second term as Floor Member Representative Governor.
Commentary
Ms. Walter served with distinction as SEC Commissioner. During the latter portion of her time at the SEC, she focused on the debt markets, particularly the municipal securities markets, as well as on corporate financial disclosures.
