Fed Governor Adriana Kugler Tenders Resignation

Federal Reserve Board Governor Adriana D. Kugler said she will step down as a member of the Federal Reserve Board effective August 8, 2025.

Ms. Kugler was nominated by President Biden and served as a governor since September 2023. Her full term was set to expire in January 2026. The opening provides President Trump an opportunity to nominate a new Governor more quickly than anticipated.

In her resignation letter, Dr. Kugler stated that she was "proud to have tackled this role with integrity, a strong commitment to serving the public, and with a data-driven approach strongly based on my expertise in labor markets and inflation."

In a separate statement, Fed Chair Jerome H. Powell thanked Dr. Kugler for her service, commending her contributions and the academic expertise she brought to the Board
