Global Financial Services Firm to Launch Bitcoin Lending Service
Global financial services firm Cantor Fitzgerald announced it would launch a Bitcoin financing business with $2 billion in initial financing, and will "substantially grow the operation" in $2 billion increments to "support Bitcoin investors' financing needs."
During the Bitcoin 2024 Conference, Chair and CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, Howard Lutnick said the firm is "excited to help unlock Bitcoin's full potential and continue bridging the gap between traditional finance and digital assets." He said: "Bitcoin, like gold, should be free to trade everywhere in the world ... without exception and without limitation ... We will offer leverage to those who own Bitcoin." He concluded: "the moral of the story is that we are going to welcome Bitcoin into the financing family of global financial markets ... We will build the best platform for financing Bitcoin, work with the best custodians and are committed to your ecosystem of Bitcoin."
