OFR Launches "Joint Analysis Data Environment" Platform to Help FSOC Assess Financial Risk

The Office of Financial Research ("OFR") launched the Joint Analysis Data Environment ("JADE") platform to help the Financial Stability Oversight Council ("FSOC") assess financial stability risks.

In its Release, OFR stated that JADE will provide FSOC members with "analysis-ready data, analytical software, and high-performance computing in a secure, cloud-based environment."

In a public statement, OFR Acting Director James Martin emphasized the importance of accurately assessing threats to the financial system, which he said can come from "multiple sources" and "do not adhere to regulatory boundaries." He said that JADE was designed initially to assess environment-related risks, but the platform was also intended to be "responsive to the evolving nature of risks to financial-stability."
