FDIC Updates Supervisory Instructions for Examination Reports

The FDIC updated the "Report of Examination Instructions" section of the Risk Management Manual of Examination Policies. The updated section incorporates new guidance into the instructions for examiners to follow when communicating supervisory recommendations, and includes the requirement that recommendations be communicated clearly in a written Report of Examination ("ROE"). The FDIC also made various other improvements and technical changes to the instructions for ROEs.

The updates are responsive to the FDIC Board of Directors' statement on July 29, 2016 concerning the Development and Communication of Supervisory Recommendations.
