CEPS-ECMI Researchers Consider Role of Derivatives in Sustainable Finance

In a new report, researchers at the European Capital Markets Institute of the Centre for European Policy Studies ("CEPS-ECMI") considered the role of derivatives in sustainable finance.

The researchers found that, in the context of the European Green Deal, derivatives markets can "contribute to the significant capital raising and investing that will be required to transition to a low carbon economy." In addition, the researchers note that environmental, social and governance ("ESG") products that are linked to sustainability and new ESG derivative offerings are satisfying a growing demand.
