Three Jailed for Insider Dealing after US and UK Investigation
June 20, 2012
Two directors of Blue Index, a specialist CFD brokerage house, and the wife of one of the directors have been sentenced to a total of five years in prison for insider dealing. The trio were involved in a transatlantic conspiracy to use UK spread bets to trade ahead of tech deals in the US based on illegal tip-offs. The case is the first ever to involve prosecutions on both sides of the Atlantic, with the SEC, the DoJ and the FBI investigating in the US, and the City of London Police and the FSA investigating in the UK.
