President Biden To Nominate Regulators for FDIC, Treasury, SEC and FSOC

President Joseph R. Biden announced his nominees for senior regulatory positions. They include:

  • For FDIC Chair–Christy Goldsmith Romero is currently a CFTC Commissioner and sponsor of the CFTC's Technology Advisory Committee. Previously, Ms. Romero served at Treasury where she was the Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program.  

  • For Assistant to the Treasury Department–​​​​​​​Secretary Kristin N. Johnson is currently a CFTC Commissioner. Previously, Ms. Johnson was a professor at Emory University Law School and Tulane University Law School after stints at JP Morgan Chase and at Simpson, Thacher, and Bartlett LLP. 

  • For Member of the SEC–​​​​​​​Caroline A. Crenshaw is currently an SEC Commissioner. Previously, she served at the SEC as a staff attorney and as counsel to Commissioners Kara Stein and Robert Jackson. 

  • For Member of Financial Stability Oversight Council–​​​​​​​Gordon I. Ito is currently the Insurance Commissioner for the State of Hawaii.  Previously, he served as the National Association of Insurance Commissioners' Secretary-Treasurer.
