On June 22, 2017, the United States Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry (the "Committee") will hold a hearing to discuss the nomination of J. Christopher Giancarlo as Chair of the CFTC.

Committee Chair Pat Roberts (R-KS) commented previously on Mr. Giancarlo's ability to lead the CFTC:

"[Acting Chairman Christopher Giancarlo] has been an exceptional member of the CFTC. . . . His experience on the Commission for the last few years and his business background make him well suited for the job. He recognizes the important risk management function the markets have for our farmers, ranchers, and end-users."
