The SEC released the agenda for its Investor Advisory Committee ("Committee") meeting on June 22, 2017. The Committee will discuss capital formation, the decline of initial public offerings, and certain provisions of the Financial CHOICE Act. The panels will feature academic experts and industry professionals.
Additionally, the Committee will hold an election in order to fill vacant officer positions.
In a recent legal memorandum, Cadwalader attorneys posited that the CHOICE Act could alter SEC enforcement strategies and procedures significantly.
By a vote of 233 to 186, the House of Representatives passed the "Financial CHOICE Act of 2017."
At an upcoming public meeting, the SEC Investor Advisory Committee will discuss capital formation, the decline of initial public offerings and certain provisions concerning the Financial CHOICE Act relating to the SEC.
