SEC Teaches Investors How to Read a Mutual Fund Prospectus
In a series of three Investor Bulletins, the SEC provided guidance to investors on how to read and understand key information in a mutual fund prospectus. The Investor Alerts explained the requirements that apply to an investment prospectus, including (i) investment objectives, strategies and risks, (ii) fee tables and performance, and (iii) management and shareholder information, and statements of additional information.
The SEC also reminded investors that a prospectus should contain additional information to assist investors in making investment decisions.
