SEC Requests Voluntary Submission of Diversity Policies
The SEC requested regulated entities voluntarily submit self-assessments of their diversity policies and practices.
According to a press release, the SEC undertakes the collection of these self-assessments every other year and uses the data collected to "report on progress and trends in regulated entity diversity-related activities."
The SEC Office of Minority and Women Inclusion ("OMWI") reminded firms that they may choose to use the SEC's Diversity Self-Assessment Tool and should refer to the SEC's Frequently Asked Questions on assessments. The SEC emphasized that "[c]onducting and submitting diversity self-assessments is voluntary and is not part of the SEC's examination process."
