SEC Chair Testifies on FY 2019 Budget Request

In testimony before the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations, Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government, SEC Chair Jay Clayton asserted that, if approved, the FY 2019 budget request for $1.658 billion would improve SEC operations.

As previously covered, Mr. Clayton described the SEC's efforts to improve in the areas of technology and cybersecurity, risk management, capital formation, protections for "Main Street" and vulnerable investors, enforcement against manipulation and fraud within regulated markets, regulatory oversight and leasing efforts.
