CFTC Commissioner Summer K. Mersinger said she will leave the agency on May 30, 2025 to become the Chief Executive Officer of the crypto industry's Blockchain Association on June 2, 2025.
In a CFTC statement, Ms. Mersinger, a President Biden appointee, said she was leaving "to pursue new opportunities." In a news release, the Association said that Ms. Mersinger "will spearhead efforts to advance forward-thinking legislation, foster industry growth, and defend the foundational principles of decentralized technology."
