New York District Attorney Opens Investigation into "Panama Papers"

U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Preet Bharara sent a letter to the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists ("ICIJ") asking for information to assist in his newly opened criminal investigation regarding "matters to which the 'Panama Papers' are relevant." Mr. Bharara stated that his investigators would "greatly appreciate the opportunity to speak as soon as possible to any ICIJ employee or representative involved in the Panama Papers Project in order to discuss this matter further."
