FINRA Sets Effective Date on Fractional Share Equity Trade Reporting

FINRA set an effective date of February 23, 2026 for "implementing enhancements to the FINRA equity trade reporting facilities to support the reporting of fractional share quantities."

As previously covered, the FINRA trade reporting enhancements and related guidance require members engaged in fractional share trading to report fractional share quantities up to six digits after the decimal. (See Trade Reporting Notice.) FINRA said it will announce the implementation date for OTC Equity Securities in a future Notice.
