CFPB Seeks New Members to Join Advisory Groups

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ("CFPB") is soliciting new members to join the following advisory groups: the Consumer Advisory Board, the Community Bank Advisory Council and the Credit Union Advisory Council. The groups advise the CFPB on emerging trends and practices in the consumer financial marketplace.

The CFPB is looking for individuals who fit the following criteria to apply:

  • experts in consumer protection, community development, consumer finance, fair lending and civil rights;
  • experts in consumer financial products or services;
  • bank representatives who work in underserved communities;
  • representatives from communities that were affected by higher-priced mortgage loans;
  • credit union and community bank employees; and
  • experts in consumer financial markets and underserved populations.

In the fall of 2018, 10 seats will be open on the Consumer Advisory Board, 15 seats on the Community Bank Advisory Council and 12 seats on the Credit Union Advisory Council. Applications must be received by April 23, 2018.
