SEC Commissioner Peirce Ramps Up Crypto Task Force

SEC Commissioner Hester M. Peirce filled senior positions for the new Crypto Task Force.

Richard Gabbert, Senior Advisor to Acting SEC Chair Uyeda, will serve as Chief of Staff. Taylor Asher, Senior Policy Advisor, will serve as Chief Policy Advisor. Michael Selig, a former private sector crypto practice lawyer, will serve as Chief Counsel.

The Crypto Task Force includes fourteen staff members from the various SEC divisions. Ms. Peirce said, "[t]he Crypto Task Force exhibits deep expertise and an enthusiastic commitment to identifying—with the help of other talented staff across the Commission and interested members of the public—workable solutions to difficult crypto regulatory problems."

On March 21, the task force will host its first roundtable discussion in an upcoming series on crypto regulation.
