SEC Deputy to Become Next Director of Investment Management

The SEC named Natasha Vij Greiner incoming Director of the Division of Investment Management. Current Director William Birdthistle will step down on March 8, 2024.

In the announcement, the SEC stated that Ms. Greiner played a significant role in implementing "major rulemakings [for both] private [and public] fund advisers... including money market fund reforms and adjustments to shareholder reporting requirements."

In addition to her current role as Deputy Director, Ms. Greiner serves as the National Associate Director of the Investment Adviser/Investment Company ("IA/IC") examination program. She previously served as Acting Chief Counsel and Assistant Chief Counsel in the Division of Trading and Markets and in various other SEC roles.
