President Trump Chooses New Nominee for Labor Secretary
President Donald J. Trump nominated R. Alexander Acosta for Secretary of Labor, following Andrew Puzder's withdrawal from consideration for the post. Mr. Acosta's previous experience includes serving as a member of the National Labor Relations Board and as the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. Mr. Acosta stated that:
"I am deeply grateful and honored for the opportunity to serve my country. I thank the President and his staff for their confidence in me and I am eager to work tirelessly on behalf of the American worker."
