SEC Names Division of Corporation Finance Acting Director

The SEC named John Coates as Acting Director of the SEC Division of Corporation Finance.

Mr. Coates is the John F. Cogan Professor of Law and Economics at Harvard University, as well as Vice Dean for Finance and Strategic Initiatives. Before joining the Harvard Law School faculty, Mr. Coates was a partner at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, and specialized in mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Coates also served previously on the SEC's Investor Advisory Committee ("IAC"), and chaired the IAC Investor-as-Owner Subcommittee.
