SEC Chairman Walter's Opening Remarks at Investor Advisory Committee Meeting

In what she described as her first public appearance as SEC Chairman, Elisse Walter delivered opening remarks at the Investor Advisory Committee Meeting. Chairman Walter mentioned the SEC's progress on rule-making. In this regard, Walter said that one of her priorities was setting a realistic timetable for adopting new rules, particularly under Dodd-Frank and the JOBS Act. She also indicated that her primary mission would be the protection, education and representation of retal investors.
