Ms. Burns joined the agency in September 2018 and led the agency's five-year IT modernization plan. Previously, she served as CIO at the Department of the Interior.
FDIC Chief Information Officer Howard Whyte will leave the agency in January 2020. Deputy CIO Sylvia Burns will serve as Acting CIO until a permanent replacement is appointed.
The FDIC appointed Howard Whyte as CIO, Ricardo Delfin as Director of the Office of Complex Financial Institutions, and John Conneely as Regional Director for the Chicago Region.
