The SEC amended Privacy Act regulations that are applicable to the Commission (not the regulations that apply to registrants) to eliminate unnecessary provisions and introduce electronic methods for identity verification and Privacy Act requests.

The SEC proposed amendments that would revise, remove or insert certain procedural provisions within the regulations promulgated under the Privacy Act of 1974, as amended.

In a 2022-2026 Strategic Plan, CFTC Chair Rostin Behnam highlighted "emerging trends transforming global derivatives markets" including "digital asset commodities, decentralized finance, and Environmental, Social, and Governance Investing."
