The CFTC announced its agenda for the upcoming Market Risk Advisory Committee ("MRAC") meeting on June 2, 2015. The MRAC meeting will focus on issues related to (i) the appropriate industry response to current and potential cybersecurity threats, and (ii) the concentration of Futures Commission Merchants, and the effect of that and other factors on market liquidity. The CFTC announced that the Market Risk Advisory Committee ("MRAC") will hold a public meeting on June 2, 2015. The MRAC, which is sponsored by CFTC Commissioner Sharon Bowen, will discuss issues related to (i) the appropriate industry response to current and potential cybersecurity threats, and (ii) the concentration of futures commission merchants and its effect on, and other factors currently affecting, market liquidity. Members of the public who wish to submit written statements regarding the meeting should do so by June 9, 2015. See: CFTC Press Release; 80 FR 25674 .

In the latest installment of the Energy Metro Desk series "Drums along the Potomac," editor-in-chief John Sodergreen reported on the recent CFTC open meeting which resulted in "modest" proposals to CFTC rules. During the open meeting, the CFTC proposed "policy tweaks" to various Dodd-Frank rules that Mr. Sodergreen called "burdensome." The rule proposals involved the residual interest deadline and recordkeeping relating to commodity interest and related cash or forward transactions.
