OFAC Designates Nicolas Maduro's Son

OFAC designated the son of Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro Moros for contributing to the ongoing crisis in Venezuela.

According to OFAC, Nicolas Ernesto Maduro Guerra ("Maduro Guerra") (i) helped spread propaganda, (ii) was involved in censorship efforts, (iii) profited from Venezuelan mines along with Maduro and his wife, and (iv) pressured Venezuelan National Armed Forces to block humanitarian aid from reaching the Venezuelan people.

All property and interests in property of Maduro Guerra, as well as any entities owned 50 percent or more by him, that are in the United States, or in the possession or control of U.S. persons, are now blocked and must be reported to OFAC. Additionally, OFAC generally prohibits any dealings by U.S. persons, or within the United States, that involve Maduro Guerra, his property or interests in property.
