OFAC Rescinds Sanctions against Former Venezuelan Official

OFAC rescinded sanctions previously imposed on the former Director General of Venezuela’s National Intelligence Service (SEBIN) after he announced his support for the Venezuelan constitution and the National Assembly.

Manuel Ricardo Cristopher Figuera was removed from the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List. All his property and interests in property were unblocked. OFAC's action follows repeated statements from U.S. officials in recent months that sanctions "need not be permanent" and are "intended to bring about positive behavior."
